University of Michigan Museum of Natural History

Admission is free and the museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM with group tours available for parties of 10 or more when booked 2 weeks in advance. The building is fully ADA accessible with elevators to all 3 floors and wheelchair-accessible restrooms on each level. Parking in the nearby Palmer Drive structure costs $2 per hour and lake-effect snow from November through March can make campus roads slippery so allow extra travel time during winter visits.

Matthaei Botanical Gardens & Nichols Arboretum

Admission is free and the gardens are open daily from sunrise to sunset with the conservatory open 10 AM to 4:30 PM Tuesday through Sunday. Groups of 12 or more can arrange guided tours at $8 per person when booked 3 weeks in advance through the education office. The main conservatory and paved garden paths are ADA accessible though the arboretum trails have steep sections and unpaved surfaces that may be impassable after heavy rain or lake-effect snow events.

Michigan Stadium - The Big House

Experience the excitement of college football at one of America's largest stadiums. Even during off-season, stadium tours are available. The surrounding campus offers beautiful architecture and the famous Diag for family photos and campus exploration.

Game day tickets range from $75 to $250 and group blocks of 20 or more seats can be requested through the athletic ticket office at least 6 weeks before the season opener. The stadium has ADA seating sections with companion seats on the lower and upper concourses accessible via ramps and elevators at Gates 2 and 10. Parking lots open 4 hours before kickoff at $40 per vehicle and the Pioneer High School lot 3 blocks south offers overflow parking at $20 with a flat paved walk to the stadium.

Public parking structures on Maynard Street and Fourth Avenue charge $1.60 per hour with a daily max of $14 and hold over 1000 vehicles combined. Most shops and restaurants are ADA accessible at street level with curb cuts at every intersection and accessible restrooms in the downtown library. Summer months from June through August bring peak foot traffic and street festivals so book restaurant reservations 2 weeks ahead for groups of 8 or more.
