Parking is available in the Capitol Square ramp for $3 per hour with 600 spaces though the Saturday Dane County Farmers Market from April through November fills surrounding streets by 7 AM.

Visitor parking in Lot 46 near the Union costs $3 per hour and game-day Saturdays from September through November should be avoided unless your group has football tickets as 80000 fans overwhelm local parking.

Lake Mendota is fully thawed and swimmable from late May through September but afternoon thunderstorms are common in July and August so plan water activities for mornings when possible.
