Alaska State Museum (Juneau), Alaska

One of the places in Alaska where you can view interesting exhibits and take part in enlightening events (Alaska State Museums). The Alaska State Museum, Juneau and the Sheldon Jackson Museum, Sitka contain collections that represent diverse cultures and rich historical records. Combined, these museums have more than 32,000 cataloged objects, ranging from Alaska Native material, historic artefacts, works of art, to natural history specimens. In Juneau, the museum opens in winter Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-4 pm and in summer it opens daily (except holidays, Sept. 17& Sept. 24) 9 am-5 pm. In Sitka, the museum opens in winter 10 am-12 pm & 1-4 pm (closed at noon), Tuesday through Saturday while in summer, it opens 9 am-4:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday (closed on holidays). The Alaska State Museums are definitely worth visiting as you are promised a deep cultural and educational experience.

Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center (Juneau), Alaska

The Mendenhall Visitor Center is a place you can experience the splendor of the Mendenhall Glacier, you get to savor the outstanding views of the thirteen-mile-long river of ice, which terminates on the far side of the Mendenhall Lake. You also get to view blue icebergs floating in the water amidst reflections of Southeast Alaska?s magnificent Coast Mountains. Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center Trails and other outside areas are open year-round 6:00 am to midnight. Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center daily fee is $5 but you can get the season pass for $15. However, access is free to everyone aged 15 and under. You should plan a visit or go with your family reunion to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center as you are guaranteed a superb experience of the ever-evolving landscape.
